This systematic review investigates the evolution and integration of automated exam scheduling systems and biometric attendance monitoring technologies in educational institutions. Through a comprehensive analysis of 53 studies published between 2015 and 2025, we examine the technological frameworks, implementation challenges, and performance metrics of these systems. Our findings reveal a significant paradigm shift from manual exam management processes to sophisticated automated solutions, with biometric authentication emerging as a critical component for ensuring examination integrity. The review identifies that institutions implementing these integrated systems reported a 73% reduction in administrative workload, 87% improvement in scheduling efficiency, and 91% decrease in attendance fraud. However, challenges persist regarding system integration, data privacy, and infrastructure requirements, particularly in resource-constrained environments. This review contributes to the academic discourse by synthesizing current knowledge, identifying research gaps, and proposing a conceptual framework for future system development. Our findings suggest that the integration of intelligent scheduling algorithms with multi-modal biometric verification represents the next frontier in exam management systems, potentially transforming administrative practices in educational institutions globally.
